Now I am getting so frustrated that I hope you might have some information to share with me! I am descended from Obediah Meador who married Prudence Wells in 1786 in Prince Edward County, VA. Victor Paul Meador states in his book that this Obediah was the son of Mary Ann Meador who was the daughter of Joshua Joel Meador of Amelia County, VA. His documentation of that fact is unsatisfactory to me. Do you have any documents to suggest that Joel had a daughter named Mary Ann? Steve & Kay, Obadiah Meador was not the son of Mary Ann Meador. He was the son of Josiah Meador, son of Jonas Meador and Frances Hudgens, and Jane Holloway. Ob(e or a)diah Meador was born 1767 in Amelia Co., Virginia. He died January 13, 1826 in Bedford Co., Virginia. He married Prudence Wells April 17, 1876 in Prince Edward Co., Virginia. Prudence died after April 13, 1878. Joshua Joel Meador was born 1710 and died 1777 in Essex Co., Virginia. He was the son of John Meador and Ann A(w or u)brey. John was the son of Thomas Meador and Sarah Hoskins. The connection between Ob(e or a)diah Meador and Joshua Joel Meador is that Joshua Joel is Ob(e or a)diah's granduncle. I am not sure which book Victor Meador talks about the connection. But this is what I show. I hope this helps both of you.
