I have no proof that the last spelling is actually related but with phonetic spelling used on the cencus of the past it is certainly close enough to take a look to see if it fits. One last hint about The East Texas Meadors. In the period after the Texas battle for independence groups were formed and imported citizens to Texas. The Mercer colony was on of those colonies. This colony included Murphee's, (Murphy),Metons, and Meadors as well as others. The Mercer colony was homed in Corsicana, Tx. Then and now Navarro County. Navarro County was much larger in the begining and then broke into smaleer more manageble counties. The Counties were as followed. Limestone, 1846- Ellis 1847- Tarrant 1847- part of Mclennan in 1850- Hill in 1853-Johnson in 1853-Parker in 1855,- Palo Pinto 1856-Hood in 1866. The point is that when looking for reletive in this area one should always look beyond and find the roots of the county. In this case the Mercer Colony traveled and setteled in the original navarro county now a total of 10 seperate counties.. Emily A. Sollis born about 1869 is listed in the 1870 census as the daughter of Furney and Elizabeth Sollis. I have a theory that she was actually the daughter of their daughter, Margaret Jane, who was 20 at the time. I have some information that indicates Margaret married Richard Dillard Meador about 1870 in Jeffeson County, Illinois. The 1880 census reports do not show Margaret or Emily living with the Furney Sollis family. However, I am unable to find them listed in any other census. I know Emily, sometimes known as Emma, grew up and married Leander W. Tate, my great grandfather,in Illinois. She died in Arkansas in 1927. However, I do not have information on what happened to her parents. Help please. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am also descended from Isham through the William line and the Allen line, even I only have the word of another researcher who sent me the gedcom for this line back to John and Thomas. Most is well documented, but Allen is still a bit iffy, but logical. I have it on cd and dvd if anyone is interested. Also have it on floppy, but no floppy drive anymore.
