P. Meador, who resides on the Bluesotne River, between Lilly and True, this county. His death was rather sudden, tho' he had been in a feeble state of health for some time. Mr Meador, who had reached the great age of 87 years, was a veteran of the Civil War, being allied with the Confederate army much of the time, of the great struggle between the states. He was in the battle of the Seven Pines and was later captured at Richmond, Va., by the Union forces. He is survived by two sons, J. T., of Crumps Bottom, and A. P. Meador,of near True. Funeral services were held Friday and burial followed in the afternoon in the cemetery at True. Rev. Lilly, of Jumping Branch, had charge of the servies.

Hi All I just got a copy of a DAR Application for Membership based on Isham Meador submitted back in 1984 by Marguarette Schroeder, the wife of Larvin Schroeder. They lived in the Springfield Illinois area. It has the following lineage: (1) Ivan Lee Meador < (2) George Washington Meador < (3) William Flannery Meador < (4) Ephraim Meador < (5) Isham Meador. For references, the form points to: A. NS DAR # 612194 for generations 4 and 5, B. Genealogical Records of Ephraim Meador and Lydia Flannery by Daniel Burong Meador (1970), C. Genealogical Records of the Meador Family Descendants of Thomas Meador of Virginia by D. B. Meador D. Birth, marriage, and death certificates for generations 1 and 2 Isham's documentation for his service are listed as: A. Pension Number W-25697 B. DAR Patriot's Index, Page 461 under the name of Isham Meadows C. Revolutionary War Records by Brumbaugh, page 208 D. Historical Southern Families, by Bodie Vol IV, pages 133 and 134 E. Indes of Revolutionary War Pension Applications in the National Archives page 379 I have gathered that anyone wishing to join the DAR needs to provide only documentation back to a person that is already documented.
