    1. [MEADOR] Virus Hoax
    2. Warren Pearce
    3. There is a virus hoax popping up again in our groups. It wants you to search for and delete a file named jdbgmgr.exe. Don't delete the file http://hoaxbusters.ciac.org/ is a very good site managed by a Government Organization where you can always get good information on hoaxes. This is the introduction of what the site has on this hoax The Jdbgmgr Hoax April 2002 The jdbgmgr hoax is almost the same as the sulfnbk hoax in that it tells you to delete a program that was installed with Windows. jdbmgr.exe is the Java Debugger Manager and does have an icon that looks like a Teddy Bear. It is not, normally, a virus. As with all executables, it is not impossible to have a copy of jdbmgr.exe that is infected by a virus but that virus will be detected by your antivirus software WWP Linda & Warren Pearce Colorado Springs CO 80919-4821

    1. [MEADOR] Joel and Isham
    2. Robin
    3. Hello Cousins, I have a question and hope that someone has an answer. The Will of Jonas and the Will of Frances. On both Will's they do not list Isham as being son. Is Isham and Joel brothers only by the Smith Co. TN records? They were born only two years apart. Either this Joel and Isham are not brothers, or Joel and Isham belong to other parents. Any comments or proof would be helpful, Robin Also does anyone have the dates of birth for both sets? Joel and Sally Joel and Susanna Clark Isham and wife? Dates may clear everything up. Joel is mentioned in Frances's Will in 1774.

    3. Question Janet? Was Sally, the wife of Joel a nickname for her. Someone wrote that Joel was married to Susanna Clark. Any comments that anyone has to clear this up? 3. Hi Cousins, Isham and Joel are in my line via Joanna Meador who married Alfred Henbest. She is the daughter of George Meador and Lucy Boothe. George is the son of Nathaniel Meador and Katherine Perdue. George is the son of Eli and Sarah Turner. Eli is the son of Isham and Betty Bradshaw If anyone has copies of any original data on them, I would love to get copies and will be glad to cover the cost of copying and mailing. 3. Isham Meader age 73 Joel Meador age 75 Smith County, Tennessee "Alphabetical List of Pensioners Residing Outside of VA in 1835, whose Pensions were Granted for Services as VA Militiamen." This list was complied from a report made by the Secretary of War in 1835. The ages are those given in that report, and are believed to be the ages of the pensioners in 1835. The names of the pensioners in what is now West VA are embraced under Part IV. Hopes of helping, Robin

    3. What is NATF 80 form? National Archives NATF 80 form is the request form for pension, bounty land and military records. What can be requested? You can request pension application files for Federal service PRIOR to World War I. Also bounty land warrant application files for federal service before 1856. Also military service records based on service in the US Army [officers PRIOR to June 30, 1917, enlisted men PRIOR to Oct. 31, 1912]; US Navy [officers PRIOR to 1903, enlisted men PRIOR to 1886]; the Marine Corps [officers PRIOR to 1896, enlisted men PRIOR to 1905]. In addition, records may be requested for volunteers in various wars from the Revolution through the Philippine Insurrection, 1775-1902. Is there a cost? Yes, the National Archives charge $10 per file request. You may send in the order without payment then they will contact you. You may alo charge the order to Mastercard or Visa which the files will be send immediately after copies are made. How Long? The length of time varies, due to info given to locate files asked for, but usually about 6 weeks or better. The best records to request first? Military records seldom contain family info. Pesnsion application files generally are the most useful. You should request copies of a bounty-land warrant or military record only when no pension file exists. If the veteran's service was during the Rev. War, bounty-land warrant applications have been consolidated wtih pension application papers and you can obtain both files by requesting the pension file only. How to obtain Confederate military and pension records? the NATF 80 form may be used for soldiers and sailors. No Confederate pension records are in the National Archives. These records must be obtained at the individual state.

    3. I just wanted to tell my cousins, thank you for your kindness. I am basically writing here because I had many of you write to me with your thoughts and prayers for my father. I am getting ready to leave the library so I thought I would write all of you at once. I ran out of time. My father is well on his way. He walked the mall day before yesterday. It tired him, but he did really well and I am really seeing God work. His hand and arm are still weak but there is improvement daily on his recovery. God is GREAT!!!! Thank you all again, and I am sure God heard everyone in their prayers for him and for us. I appreciate you all and feel very close to you all. I feel like I have a family that keeps on growing, and loving every one that joins. My heart felt love to you all, Robin __________________________________________________________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available. 3. Hi Cousins, I am out of town, I do not know when I will return. My father had a stroke and I am helping indefinitely. He is on the mend. It looks like my research at that Library has come to an end. I am really regreting that. I wanted so much to complete my research before I left the area. Everyone that I have told that I have things for them, will be given to them but probably down the road a ways. I do not have computer capibilities, I am at a Library sending this message out. And if I had a computer, I don't think I would have the time to do the genealogy. I appreciate your patience, and hopefully my father will be up and running in no time. I sure do look forward to that. Best Wishes to you all, Robin __________________________________________________________________ The NEW Netscape 7.0 browser is now available.
