Hi Cousins, Found this on the message board and wanted to see if anyone had anything on this? John Meador inherited 400 acres which he later traded to Robert Tomlin on May 3, 1663 for 500 acres of land on Peumansend Creek in what is now Caroline County. Does anyone know if this is true or false? Cousin Robin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Hi Cousins, Came across this little tid bit and wanted to share. This is from message board and wanted to see if we had any info on this before I return to Essex Co VA for look ups. John Haile who was born in Essex County about 1675 and died there about 1744 and his son Francis Haile born in Essex County about 1707-1724. Francis Haile married Adara Meador whom I believe was also from Essex County. Francis Haile died in Bedford County, VA about 1775. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Okay, we all know who Addara belongs to. So does anyone have the info on Haile family. Talk with you soon, Robin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Hi Cousin Ray and Cousins, In most cases, I would agree with you. However, there are tons of cousins that have information that will not share with the rest of us. This is most unfortunate for all of us, some compose books for money, some feel their research is valuable, and there are so many other reasons. I will tell you this, if everyone felt like you do, we wouldn't have such trouble finding our ancestors. Sharing is a valuable commodity to all of us. Thank you for your comments, Robin --- Ray Lovett <iamagaga@cyberscope.net> wrote: > We are paying for information to Ancestery.com that > we gave to them. > I was a member for several years until I relazed > what was going on. > Why waste money when we as relatives would be more > willing to share our > information. I have a subscription to ancestry.com and would be happy to research people. I don't need compensation, however, would need a little time to accomplish searches as my personal life is, as usual, somewhat chaotic <g>! Shirley aumbre@earthlink.net
Hello Cousins, I wanted to point out some information given by this website. I have been told that Ancestry.com has three times the amount of information than genealogy.com. Even though they are owned by the same company. This information includes, ancestors from England, Ireland and about 100 countries all together. So if you are looking for overseas information, I would say this would be the place to go. But they are charging well for this information. $199, should say, $200. It is for 1 year only. I would say if you need this info badly, this would be the place to go. It would be worth it if we could get a cousin to research this site for one year and all of us pitch in for costs. Oh well. You all have a wonderful day, Robin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Top of the Day to you Cousins, I was writing a cousin about Arris and it just popped in my mind that maybe Arris was in the War of 1812. He shows up in the 1790 Census. I am thinking he was too young for the Rev. War. but not for the War of 1812. So for those of you looking for him, try there. Also for your information and I don't believe many know this, Arris was born in VA and traveled over to WV until he shows up in WV, Kanawha Co. WV. He and wife and children show up in early 1800's census. I am confident but not sure that he may have died there. He might have moved on, but I don't think so. If anyone finds Arris, keep us all posted please, Thanks, Cousin Robin ______________________________________________________ Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/IM0.2ACEB/532 Message Board Post: Hi: For some time now, I have been typing Barry Co., MO, newspaper items. I now have posted the years 1890 through 1913. And in among the listings there were a lot of Meador surnames. I am typing on the 1914 ones now and when I have the project finished it will go through 1921. But there are already a lot of papers listed and tons of information that will interest researchers of Barry Co., MO and the surrounding areas. There is a search engine on the front page, and you will probably need it - but if you just want to walk through them, then just go down the page and you will see listed the Barry Co., MO Newspaper project. The specific line I am looking for is Samuel Webster Meador. Samuel's father was Samuel Allen, whose father was Toliver Meador, whose father was Turner Meador. Any type of pictures would be awesome. Looking to make my mother a scrap book for Christmas. I have gotten a Lilly family reunion book but, it doesn't have any of the line I am looking for. I'd be willing to pay anyone with pictures for the cost and their time if they'd email them or postal mail would be just as great!
You can search for your Civil War ancestors here. There are many Meador/Meader/Meadow/Meadows listed here. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/soldiers/ Sheridan
