I'm waiting for someone in this Meadows/Meador List to open a discussion on the Jacob Meadows who was in Carteret Co., NC, in the 1790 Census and I believe was in Oglethorpe Co., GA, in the 1800 Census. I feel that this Jacob is part the family of old Jobe's family from Essex, VA, who settled there in the mid 1700's. Is anybody researching this person? Paul

Hello again, Jordan seems to be in the Mercer Co. VA now WV too in that time frame. My book says that Jacob Meadows settler and his sons, Jacob JR, Adam, and Jordan. Jordan bought two tracks of land June 12, 1837 Mercer Co VA(now WV), didn't give book or page. Jordan Meadows age fifty-two and wife Susan, age forty seven, were listed with their family, this is from a Census Record of Mercer Co. WV. It didn't give year. Hi again, The other Jacob of Rockingham Co VA and Monroe Co WV. He had some land dealings in Rockingham Co. VA. This is from memory. I do not have those documents. Maybe one day. My book doesn't talk about the Jacob from Rockingham Co VA then to Monroe Co. WV Now in my book it says that your Jacob Meador married Sarah Berry and settled on Christian's Ridge in the East River area of New River. NOTE: My book is conflicted with father to Jacob, one says Josiah SR is father in the next minute it says Francis SR is father. There is no account that there are two Jacob men and sons. NOTE: There is an account that Jacob or Jeremiah married Dovie Ovington, sometimes called Polly (she supposed Indian). There is nothing else to add from here.
