    3. Hi Susan, According to The Source, edited by Arlene Eakle & Johni Cerni, 1984, Maine took state censuses in 1652*, 1674*, 1703*, 1753*, 1837, and 1906. Dates marked with an asterisk indicates that the census has been printed. 1837. State archives; incomplete. 1906. York Co, only; printed in The Saco Register with Old Orchard, Brunswick: H.E. Mitchell, 1906. I hope this helps. (Personally, I wasn't even aware of these state censuses. I'm glad that you asked!) Laura Meeks lmmeeks1@earthlink.net ---------- From: Susan <specreatmusicepp@mindspring.com> To: ME-CENSUS-LOOKUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ME-CENSUS] census years Date: Friday, September 07, 2001 12:44 PM I would like to ask if there are any census records, other than on the decade, ie, 1820, 1850 etc? I need to see if I can pick up my elusive 2nd g grandmother on a year other than 1850 and 1860. And does ME have one for 1870? I am also interested in the 1840s, but since that probably won't list the individuals, I am not sure it will help. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Trying to find further information on Hannah E._________ who md Joel Prince before 1850 census. She was with him and son Frank in WI 1860. Joel is in the Civil War from 1862-1865 and remarried by 1870 or 1875 in KS census. She was 21 years in the 1850 census, which puts her birth about 1829. Then after 1860 she is missing. Did she remain in WI, or return to ME or go elsewhere? If anyone sees a connection, please contact me. Thank you. Susan Eppich
