Peg - there is no John P BAILEY in Cumberland Co, ME, even using the soundex at ancestry.com AIS census index. There are 32 'John Baileys' listed for ME in 1860 tho-looks like a popular name then. Perhaps he is listed under another 'head of household' name. Could someone locate the family of John P. BAILEY and his wife Mary for me? John was born in Maine about 1825, son of Isaac and Bertha BAILEY. He was a Civil War veteran and enlisted from Gorham in 1861. He had a daughter named Ada, born about 1858. I believe he might be living in Cumberland County in 1860, possibly in Gorham (census page 129) or in Windham (census page 185). I'd appreciate some help with this veteran. Thank you.
