Would appreciate a lookup for my 3rd g-grandfather, Charles McElwain, who was born in St. John, New Brunswick, and married in Portland, Maine in 1863. I'm not sure if he came to Maine with the rest of his family, or by himself. His father's name was John, born in Ireland. The name has also been spelled McElwaine, McElvain, McElivain, McEliveen.
