Hi Emily; There is no Henry Gowen in the Maine 1850 Census. There are two Williams, 31 and 48, both married, who would be to old. I did, however, find a Henry Gowing, 17, Clerk, in Peterborough, Hillsborough county, New Hampshire. M433 p. 335. He was enumerated in the family of Henry Steele, age 28, Merchant.
