    1. [ME-CENSUS] Lookup George A. Fletcher
    2. Mel Fletcher
    3. Hello fellow listers, I'm wondering if some kind soul could see if there is a George A. Fletcher in an 1880, 1890 or 1900 census, hopefully in Maine. I can only assume he left China after 1870, perhaps after 2 February 1875 when his mother died and the family bible says he died 22 September 1907 but does not say where. Thank you ever so much, it's kind people like you who make genealogy so much easier. Melville in Tokyo     Person: George A. FLETCHER      Birthday: 11 April 1852     Birthplace: China, Kennebec, Maine     Mother: Eliza P. LARRABEE     Father: Capt. Alfred A. FLETCHER     Sex: male    Married to Augusta C. COPELAND, 17 June 1874 at China, Kennebec, Maine    Died 22 September 1907 1860 Census, China, Maine, June 25, 1860 (pg. 47, Dwelling # 360, Family #361) Fletcher Alfred, 42, Occupation: Attorney at Law, Value Real Estate, $2,275, Value Personal Property, $1,592; Eliza, 38, wife; Eben L., 17, in school; George A., 8, in school. 1870 Census, China, Maine, June 2, 1870 (pg. 4, Dwelling # 46, Family #46) Fletcher Eliza, 48, Occupation: Keeping House, Value Real Estate, $2,000, Value Personal Property, $300; George A., 17, Farm Laborer.

    1. Re: [ME-CENSUS] Lookup John Edward Richards, born ca. 1867, New Bedford
    2. Hi. Well, first, New Bedford, Bristol is in Massachusetts. There is no Bristol County in Maine. I checked all of New England and find nobody who matches your John H, John E, or Lydia Richards. Maybe the whole family moved west, and there are so many "Richards" people in the U. S. that I would need much more info. Sorry about that. You might try reposting on the MA-Census page; somebody may have further info. Good Luck Barbara

    1. [ME-CENSUS] Lookup John Edward Richards, born ca. 1867, New Bedford
    2. E. J. Richards
    3. Dear Listers, Could someone help me with a lookup for John Edward Richards, born ca. 1867, son of John H. Richards, born 1844 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., Maine, and Lydia D. Hart, born 1848? In the IGI pedigree chart for John Edward Richards, only an approximate birth date is given, and then he seems to disappear. I am trying to determine if he disappeared in the direction of California, where he might be the John Richards who married my g-grandmother in 1885. For this reason, any census listing for him in 1870 or 1880 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Jeff Richards Muenster, Germany

    3. Dear Barbara- Thanks for the help. Josiah's wife's name was Eliza Ann Debeck, b. 1829 Maine, d. 1889, Clifton, Maine. Samuel Watson was a Doctor. b. 1853, died 1915. Married Adele ? I saw an entry for the 1910 census listing a Rexiville, female, so I thought perhaps she never married. With a name like that who would blame her! I know nothing more about Mabel except that her 1st name was given as S. I appreciate anything you are able to find. Thanks again for your work. 3. Thank you for searching for Josiah Bragg. He must have died or moved out of state, before 1880 [the family bible didn't mention when he died]. Could you see what there might be for his children that I do have names for= Rexaville or Rexiville, female, b. 1850. Samuel Watson, b. 1853 S. Mabel, b. abt 1859 I know that Josiah's wife died in 1889, so perhaps one of more of the children might be with her. Thanks for all your work on my behalf. 3. Hello- Could someone lookup a Josiah Bragg in any censuses after 1850. He was born in 1823, and living in Clifton, Penobscot Co. with wife Eliza, in 1850. I don't know when he died, so I am using the censuses to try and track him. I am also interested in names of children, and ages. There is another Josiah Bragg, born 1847- I don't need him. Thank you. 3. Hi Ethelind, I probably shouldn't even ask for this one, but I seem to be at a deadend. SKS found the first name of my 2nd g grandmother "Hannah E. md to Joel Prince and living in Parkman, Piscataquis ME on the 1850, she is 21 and he is 24. His birthday was in Feb and the census was taken in August if that has any bearing. He is working on a farm. By 1860 he is working for the RR and they were found in northern Wisconsin, with son Frank. Then Joel enters the Civil War and is gone until 1865. By 1875 he has remarried and they are in KS. What happened to Hannah E. (don't know if that is for surname or given name) and Frank (Benjamin Franklin) while Joel was gone. Did they return to ME and show up on 1870 census or any other relevant one. They aren't on the 1870 for KS. Still checking MI and NE for them. He worked for several RR lines. I have checked for Hannahs born in 1829-1830 and nothing yet. Is there a way to check for 'E' surnames, if she isn't listed under Prince? Lots of questions. But it took me 4 decades to get her first name, so I guess that is progress. Thanks for any ideas or info.
