    2. Dean, I found them in Massachussetts in 1940 with their last name misspelled. Their birthplaces are given as Massachusetts but I suspect that Robt. or Winifred Ropes may have talked to the census taker and didn't know they were born in Maine. If they were living in the same place in 1935, then the boys were probably born in MA.     2. Yes Marilyn, that is him! Wallace's parents were in Framingham, Massachusetts, but it was Easter Vacation, and Wallace was vistiting his sister in Dover-Foxcroft.
