But if anyone is researching Elliotts in Wicomico Co, MD please, please contact me. My Mom is Ross Elliott Mitchell who is now 80 and would like more info on her father's (John wesley Elliott) side of the family. If your an Elliott from this area we could be related. I have lots of info & am willing to exchange data. ALSO I JUST FOUND THIS/Possible relatives to William Grason Elliott's or Mary J. Puckum's relative's Allan Willis MEZICK b Oct. 12, 1879 d. Oct. 12, 1944 married Esther Caroline (Robertson) MEZICK, b. May 25, 1880 d. Feb. 6, 1962. I just found this couple listed in the Chancery record deed for my Elliott & Puckum family when their adult children divided up the property after Algernon Puckum (Mary's brother) & my great grandparents Mary J. Puckum Elliott & Wm. Grason Elliott all died. The Mezick's mentioned above are listed on this chancery record to receive inheritance from the family land. Although, they did not make a claim It looks like these two are related to my Elliott's. The Elliott's & Puckum (mentioned above) died in the early 1900s their land wasn't sold off until 1922 by order of their next of kin: James & Martha Elliott McGrath, Walter & Carrie Elliott Foxwell, Dora Lewis & John Wesley Elliott, Mary V. Elliott & the Mezick's mentioned above. please contact!!!!! The Elliott land owned was approx 23 acres of land on Capitola Road which turned out to be a mere sum of money after it was sold in the 1920s. And since the kids waited for some 20 years to divide up the land---- someone by then had even dismantled their homes---- I am assuming for the wood. I know my gg grandparents lived thier from the 1860s until the 1900s. One of thier children stayed in this area Mary V. Elliott who never married (she died in 1939. Others who stayed for a while were Carrie Elliott who married Walter Foxwell, & Martha Rebecca Elliott who married James McGrath (their children m. Bloodsworth's in the area). They had other children but they died before 1910 (William A.C., Susia, Issac and WIlliame (female). Mary j. was a Nanticoke/Lenape Indian although she passed as white on the census's and she did own land. So, they must have kept her heritage a secret. I know that the Larrimore's lived nearby and one of them testified in this court case if that helps. Anything info would be greatly appreicated!!!!
