I have spent the past 3 years looking for a link between my John Joseph Keedy and the Tennessee Lewis Keedys. I've finally found one. It's tenuous granted but I'm more convinced now than ever that I'm on the right track. In 1910 John Joseph's daughter Henrietta was living with her daughter, Mary (aka Minnie Rippy) in Osage County, MO. Henrietta was over 80 at the time. Mary (aka Minnie) tells the census taker that Henrietta's father was born in Tennessee! This is the ONLY census record that gives John Joseph Keedy's place of birth as Tennessee. Every other record lists him as having been born in MD. I know he was born in MD about 1784 but I have no evidence to back this up. Ludwig never left MD until about 1798. Ludwig was the only Keedy to have son born in that time frame. What matters to me is that his granddaughter thought he came from Tennessee which is where it appears John Joseph's father died. Bledsoe County records were destroyed by fire making a discovery of the link very difficult. Does it sound like I have made it? What else can I look for?
