    3. In distribution of estates 1778-1883 there are no Bowders entries. There are two Barnharts listed, Martin and Martha who are heirs of Samuel Nighwander. George Barnhart had a letter in the Post Office at Hagers Town in an Oct. 6, 1802 edition of the Maryland Herald. The Maryland Herald Sept. 6, 1815 "Petition to lay out road from Hancock-town to Jacob Leonard's mill and from thence up the river Potomack, to intersect the main road from Hancock-town to Old town at BARNHART's hill. The Torchlight Dec. 4, 1828 "Equity case - David Cheney vs. David Nighwander and others. Object of the bill is to obtain decree for sale of real estate of Jacob Nighswander, decd, for payment of debts" Heirs of David Nighwander who were out of state included John, David, Peter and Matthew Barnhart. In Vol. III of the cemetery records there are number of Bowders burials on page 69. They are in the Union Church Graveyard at State Line, PA close to the Maryland State Line. There are even more Barnhart burials in that cemetery. There are about 20 Barnhard/Barnhart/Barnhardt burials in Vol. II of the cemetery records. Those are the only two (of seven) volumes I own. Of the names you mention, these are in State Line Cemetery: John Calvin Bowders b. 5 April 1853 d. 24 Sep 1901 Ida Sarah w/o John Calvin Bowders b. 14 Aug. 1855 d. 11 Jun 1936. George W. Bowders b. 1851 d. 1936 Elizabeth, wife of John Bowders b. 14 Mar. 1827 d. 9 Mar. 1896 George W. Barnhart, b. 28 Feb. 1836 d. 11 April 1863 (There are two infants buried with him - an editor's note indicates they are assumed to be children of G. W. and L.C. Barnhart - Alice aged 1 year and Lucien aged 3) There are specific dates if you want that information - they died in the 1860's. Elizabeth Barnhart b. 2 March 1803 d. 13 Feb. 1865 There are two children buried in the Church of United Bretheren Graveyard at State Line PA near the MD line They are infants, dau 23 Dec. 1887 and son 2 Dec. 1886 children of L.H. and I. B. Bowders. (Lewis Henry?) The marriage index covers the period 1799 - 1860 and there are no Bowders entries in it at all - three Barnhart entries, Peter, Jacob H. and Jacob for grooms, and Catherine for brides.
