    3. Another good resource for early Maryland information is the "Maryland Gazette" Newspaper which began in 1728 and is available on microfilm from various organizations. The very early issues did not contain a great deal of community news which would interest genealogists but reading through the paper offered a fascinating and first hand view of the real and often gritty history of our county. It also covered the "latest news" from other countries and states. I only wish I had the time to leisurely read through each issue while I had it available through inter library loan. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history along with genealogy.
