The Valley Register was published from about 1850 through the late 1980's (not positive on the start or ending date). There is no index that I know of. The Frederick Library (C. Burr Artz) has it on microfilm from 1857 to 1900. The Frederick Historical Society has it from 1857 to about 1980. The films for 1857 to about 1861 are spotty with many issues missing. There are a few issues missing on later films. There are no known existing copies before 1857. Jack Keller
