Hello. I am looking for a Frederick Guldin/Guldy or any variation spelling, who was born in Berks Co PA abt 1729 and may have died in 3/16/1781 in Washington Co or Frederick Co MD. He or his wife may be buried in Monocacy Church Cemetery near Hagerstown? (Am not sure of sources that I have! Have conflicts! with death dates of 3/16/1781 for both of them! Which is not likely!) His wife was Anna Margaretha STAPLETON and I think they had at least 2 children, Catharina GULDIN b 10/16/1760 and a Johan Frederich GULDIN bapt 4/14/1765, both in Berks Co PA, so they may have relocated to MD after this date. Anna Margaretha was dau. of Robert Stapleton and Anna Weigand, whose WEIGAND family emigrated to the Schoharie area NY area in 1709 in the Palantine emigration to NY, and then they married in NY and went to PA area. Frederick's father was Samuel M GULDIN who emigrated with parents in 1710 to PA and first settled in Germantown/Roxboro/Rocksberry/(var then) area of PA, then in Oley, now Berks Co, but then Phila Co. Samuel died abt 10/1773 and his will, filed in Oley, Berks county PA in 10/25/1773, mentions his son Frederick, now living in Maryland should get 200 pounds. From one Stapleton source I have, Frederick and wife were married in Shenandoah Co VA in 1752. Her father, Robert STAPLETON, had relocated to that area from PA and died in Frederick Co VA in 1755. But, after then, Frederick and wife, must have located to MD, as the source shows either 'he or she' or 'both' died in 3/2/1781 buried in Monocacy Cemetery, and I am not sure which one is there! Is there a Monocacy Cemetery near Hagerstown? I have found one in Frederick Co, but no Guldy/Guldin is shown there. So am confused if there is more than one by this cemetery name in MD. Does anyone have any info to help on this GULDIN/GULDY line? Thanks so much to anyone who can help. A brother of Frederick, Daniel GULDIN (in Berks Co PA), married into another of my line - Catharine Elisabeth GELBACH of Berks Co. My gr6grandmother was her sister - Elizabeth GELBACH m George KERST of Oley/Exeter area. Both were daus of Johannes GELBACH, d. c8/1756 in Oley and Christina GELBACH, d 1804 in Amity, Berks Co PA. Christina designated George KERST and DAniel GULDIN as execs of her estate in 1804. Diana in AL
