Will someone please explain to me why so many people born in Maryland moved to and died in OGLE, CO.Ill What was the inducement? Gordon

I am confused...is Ogle County Ill or Ky? When did people begin to leave Washington County? I am STUCK with my Farrow being born in 1802. Seems he lived and died in Williamsport but no info on birth or parents... As I understand it, it was the farmland. Much of Washington County had poor soils. My ancestors headed down the river with many of those folks but stopped on the other side of the river in Kentucky.
