I'm planning a research trip to the Berkeley Springs / Hagerstown area in September in hopes of doing some on site sluething on the families of Peter (father) and Andrew Jackson (son) Stottlemyer. According to the census records they spent a good many years in the area of Sir John's Run. Could anyone recommend decent, yet reasonable, accommodations? Does anyone have suggestions as to things I must be sure not to miss in the line of research? The courthouses are a must for me but is there a particular library or historical society that you would recommend? I'm hoping to locate burial spots and get some photos.
