Historical Society located in Martinsburg WVA has a lot on the tri co area. Western Maryland Room at the Library in Hagerstown is another great place to do research, lots of local family histories. Washington co Library in Hagerstown, and the Historical Society are in walking distance of the courthouse too. Can't remember the street but there is a pay parking lot behind the courthouse area. In front of courthouse if you go left a block or two is the historical society. I think the library is on Potomac Street. Check the Internet for location and time I think they are listed. They have nice B &B in the area.
