    1. [MDWashin] JACOB HOSE
    2. Genealogy Research
    3. Would anyone on this great list have information about Jacob Hose, born about 1795 (per 1850 Washington County census). Married Elizabeth Fauckler (Fockler, Folkler and other spellings) 7 Feb 1818 and died 1860. The children I have been able to identify are Isabella, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, George, and William (there may have been others.) He owned property at Mt. Aetna near Cavetown. In the 1850 Census there are two Jacob Hose listings. The one I'm interested in lived in District 1 and was married to Elizabeth. He is my 3rd great grandfather. Any additional information would be very much appreicated, including his parents, etc. Many thanks to all for the help.

    1. [MDWashin] MILLS question German Church Records
    2. Tracy Mills
    3. Hi. I noticed that some had accessed a volume of German church records. I'm wondering if you could check for MILLS for me? I know it's a broad scope so the first names I'm most interested in are: Thomas Michael Jacob William Eli (jah) Levi I'm researching Mills in the Indian springs area. Thomas was the father of Otho Mills but I can't find Otho's mother. By 1850 Thomas was married to a woman who would have been about 10 when Otho was born. I'm also trying to connect the dots of some of those early families. Thanks in advance Tracy

    3. In Vol. 13 of the German Church Records there s only one Mills entry: John son of Jacob[?] and Cath. Mills b. 27 Jan. 1805, bp. April 1817, Sponsor: Parents Washington Spy (Hagerstown)September 3, 1794 "The following citizens are draughted in Col. Thomas Sprigg's Regiment: From Capt. In 1808 he made another announcement in another newspaper that he had taken up a stay mare. The Torchlight March 14, 1826 "Married in Balt first inst by Rev. The Torchlight November 8, 1827 "Died 29th September last at the res of her son Samuel MILLS on Elk Ridge, Anne Arundel Co, Md, Mrs. Elizabeth Miller, in the 76th year of her age, relict of the late William Miller of this co." There is a MILLS family Bible in Fuller's Family Bible Recors in the Washington County Free Library. You may want that information for sorting. Hopefully someone who has other church records will check for you. I would also check records other than the German Church Records in that I find general works with them in many other counties and allied with early families like Dorsey, etc. I would guess they are Welsh or English. I would check all the cemetery books - I know there are some burials in Episcopal Churchyards. Kanely's Directory of Maryland Church Records indicates that Episcopal records for Washington County are in the Maryland Historical Society. Morrow & Morrow's Mariage Index: Abr./Eliz. Land records helped me sort Brantners who were cousins with the same first and last names (and no middle on record). Hopefully someone else who has researched you lines or who has more suggestions will respond. 3. Laura. Thank you for this info. I have checked many of the resources you have mentioned. I have the wills/probate records that u reference and have copies from morrows cemetery books I have gone through and transcribed most of the land records that I could find which did provide a bit of info. I will look through the other resources you mentioned. I asked about German church records because I found a reference that one of Thomas's daughters (Elizabeth) married Peter tedrick in the German reformed church of clear spring but I can't find any info about this church or where it was etc. Thanks again Tracy Sent from my iPhone On May 20, 2013, at 11:57 AM, Lauren Brantner <[email protected]> wrote: > In Vol. 13 of the German Church Records there s only one Mills entry: > > John son of Jacob[?] and Cath.
