    3. Joan, Try the Washington County Free Library at http://www.whilbr.org/ . Under Collection at top right, select Washington Taxes and underneath for Words or Phrases enter Hudson. Thomas is listed on pages a and c . It doesn't give his occupation but it does tell what he was being taxed on. These are 1803-1804 Tax records. I have no proof that this Thomas is yours so read with that in mind.
