Donna, Regarding Lauren's post of marriages, NICELY, MYERS, & GRAY are Shenandoah names connected to the CLEM families in Powels Big Fort area of the county. Passage Creek cuts through the middle of this valley running north to south. Powel's Fort is not a fort, it is a valley. It is called that because it provided protection from attach with a mountain range on both sides. There is alot of information on the site concerning CLEMS. The site has an article on the DANIEL B. CLEM HOME which sold 8 November 1887 to JOHN A. G. CLEM & SARAH C. CLEM & GEORGE A. G. CLEM.
