John, there are earlier published records for Frederick County - I just happen to have that particular volume. I couldn't get the earlier one because it is out of print. Maybe someone has it and can do a lookup for you. Lauren john112g3@aol.com wrote: >Thank you very much, Lauren. I'm aware of the children of Johann Peter Herr and Susannah X in Hagerstown. Indeed, I've traced Johann Peter Herr back to Eschwege, Hesse where he was born in Aug 1758, the eldest son of Johann Conrad Herr and Elizabeth Völcke and grandson of Johann Peter Herr and Johann Bernard Völcke. His brother was Johann Bernard Herr! He also had three younger sisters in Eschwege. But I have not been able to identify his wife, Susannah as yet. >John M. Lauren, You wrote " I can tell you there are no HERR marriages in the Frederick County marriage licenses covering 1778-1810." As John Peter Herr and Susannah X must have been married ca. 1783 (he was in Yorktown, VA until Aug 1781 and they were in Hagerstown in 1784), there would be no need to search earlier dates in Frederick Co. if the index you have covered "all" Frederick Co. Reformed churches. -----Original Message----- From: Lauren Brantner <lrbrant@concentric.net> To: MDWASHIN-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, 20 Mar 2005 09:58:15 -0700 Subject: Re: [MDWASHIN] Reformed Church Marriages ca. 1782-3 John, there are earlier published records for Frederick County - I just happen to have that particular volume.
