Dear John, I was looking through the record of Johann Peter Herr in the book I have, "The Rainbow, Der Reggeboge." Just a thought---it says that Susanna was from Fairfield Co., Ohio. Could they have possibly married there? ............Larry On Sat, 19 Mar 2005 11:15:53 -0500 john112g3@aol.com writes: > > I seek the marriage record of Johann Peter HERR, Hessian Soldier > who deserted to the Americans in August 1781, and was held at Ft. > Frederick until the war's end in 1783. Larry, My information is that John Peter Herr and wife, Susannah, lived in Hagerstown, MD from ca. 1783 - after 1820. Their son, Samuel Herr, moved to Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH in the 1820's and lifed out his life there, eventually marrying a woman named Jane S. There is a record in Hagerstown ca. 1830 that John Peter Herr and his wife, Susannah "of Fairfield Co., OH" sold a lot in Hagerstown. I find them in Lancaster, Fairfield Co., OH in the 1830 census. I believe John Peter Herr died ca. 1835 in Ohio though I've not found proof or a grave. John M.
