According to the History of Western Maryland, John Donovan was living in or around Hartford in 1793. He owned a tavern at one point and an island. He donated land for a cemetery. Can anyone tell me anything more about him? Did he marry? Who? Did he have children? Unfortunately, he is not listed in the index and I only found him on page 1251 due to the kindness of a stranger.
