    3. Many thanks to Patricia and Cindy for their help with the Letitia Smith mysteries. It looks like there were at least three Letitia Smiths in Boonsboro: Letitia b. 1776 d. 1850 (In 1840 census) Letitia b. 1806 d. 1868 (Why doesn't she appear in 1850, 1860?) Letitia b. 1819 d. ? (In 1850, 1860 census) 'Guess I need to look in the 1820, 1830 censuses to see when Letitia became a widow. Perhaps the three females (1-16/20, 1-20/30, 1-30-40) listed in the 1840 census were not all daughters but daughters and granddaughter? Anyone know anything more about this Smith family?

SMITH age 62 yd. d. 27 Oct. 1868 buried in the Methodist Churchyard, Boonsboro, MD (Vol. II p. 84) There is only one other Smith burial there, for MARGARET age 29 y d. 4 Jun 1844. I looked at the SMITH grooms in the marriage index and can't find a bride with Letitia as a first name. None are in the Bride's index either. With that first name, it may be misspelled and that's why you can find her sometimes. There was nothing in the newspaper extraction books I have.
