I was interested in finding more about the Samuel BLECHER who married Susan BRANTNER 7/10/1840. The earliest marriage in the index is for a BLECKER in 1832 - the rest are 1840's. A John and Samuel Blecher were heirs to Elizabeth LANTZ in 1810. John BLACKER/Barb. FURRAY, 4/6/1804, Samuel BLACKER/Peggy Carver 5/3/1811 are earlier entries. In 1805 _____ BLEACHER's children were heirs to Jacob Houser. They were Magdalena, Barbara, John, Caty, Barbara and Mary. In 1835 there is an estate for John BLECHER and all his heirs are POFFENBERGERS. In 1835 there is an estate for John BLECKER Adm. Jacob; widow, Leah HUFFER, Catherine MULENDORE, Jacob, Samuel, Maria A., Susanna, William, Elizabeth, Barbara and Margaret. Leah's marriage announcement indicates they lived in Pleasant Valley. Leah Blecher and John Huffer's descendants are in a Bible in the Washington County Free Library or in Fuller's publication. Leah was born in 1805. In 1824 Barbara BLEECHER is an heir to David FURRY. You're right - the name is all over the place - ancient German surname curse. I was hoping someone had thoroughly researched this name - maybe they'll pop up yet.
