    3. There are only two Denny grooms in the marriage index for the county - 1799-1860 DENNY, Neale/Mary EICHELBERGER 2/25/1810 Joseph/Harriet BURROWS 6/16/1812 The only bride in the index is Julia Ann DENNY/John GORMAN 6/14/1838 In1822 and later in the newspaper extracts there are references to a Rev. David Denny who married people at Chambersburg, PA. I didn't find any Denny listings from 1799 up til then in the extracts that I have. In the estate distributions: MILLER, John. Adm. Samuel 12/19/1808; widow, Samuel, Sarah, Catherine, Elizabeth, Jacob, Magdalena, John. T 1161.13.1 1/2 [pounds, schillings and pence] This is the only Sarah Miller in the estate distributions. There are six Sarah Millers in the marriage license index; you should be aware of that (none married to a Denny). From the 1783 Tax List for Washington County there are these Millers: Adam Miller. WA Salisbury and Conocheague p. 46. MSA S1161-11-3. 1/4/5/54 Andrew Miller. WA Elizabeth p. 27. MSA S1161-11-4. 1/4/5/54 Andrew Miller. Notes: Waggoner. WA Elizabeth p. 27. I believe Elizabeth-Town is an early name for Hagerstown - the names refer to land parcels. Are you sure your Sarah Miller is from Hagerstown? MSA refers to Maryland State Archives sources. Lauren Brantner Carolyn Lacey wrote: >I am looking for information on Dennys and Millers that might have been living in Hagerstown around 1782. My James Denny was born there in 1782. His parents are supposed to be James Denny and Sarah Miller. The Sr James Denny was born in Ireland, fought in the Revolution and removed to Greene Co, PA with his family. I have his pension records. I would like to learn something about Sarah Miller Denny's family if possible. Thanks. Carolyn > >__________________________________________________ >Do You Yahoo!? >Tired of spam? Yahoo!
