You might be able to get copies of the original Certificates of Survey for these tracts from the MD Archives. They do not appear to be on the MD Archives' plats.net site. There was some dispute as to boundaries of these two tracts, the tract Canaan and others in the 1790s and 1820s. Maybe proper surveys were never filed originally, but the case file for the chancery case should have as much mapping as you'd want to see. Good hunting, Judy Bill Good writes: Lauren, Washington Co. I am platting deeds in and around the area and the location of "Beals Chance" within Boonsboro is critical to accurately placing the plats.
