Lauren~       Thanks for the info.  When we are down in Allegany County for reunions or just for a weekend get away, we drive around the area, trying to locate just where Green Spring Furnace was.  There is a road with the name which takes us no where.  Nothing to show a small settlement.  Will take your revised new Guide to the Old Line State data to see if it will help.
