I found a birth record possibility for my 3rd great-grandmother Susan Shank on the FHL film #859283 "Records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Maryland." The parents are Peter Shank and his wife Mary. Their daughter is named Susan Hammer. Has anyone seen Hammer used as a middle name before - especially for a girl?
