Bobbie~ My husband's great grandparents lived in Green Spring Furnace from approx. 1850 until 1880. They were Catholic and attended the Catholic Church in Clearspring Washington County MD. The records are not there but have an address for whom you might contact to check. If your ancestor was Catholic they may have attended that church or St. Mary's in Hagertown. I have the sacramental records for St. Mary. Will check today to see if there is anything on this family and get back to you. His g grandfather was a Canal Boatman and the property was a small farm. Green Spring Furnace was near Four Lock on the canal. Will get back ASAP. Mary Ellen, I doubt they were Catholic. My 4th great grandfather was a Trustee of St Peters Evangelical Luthern church...so I'm assuming all the children were Lutheran also. Are they any county history about Green spring Furnace?? Thanks to all who responded and had suggestions :) Bobbie Hunt Brady ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Ellen Chambers" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2011 9:34 AM Subject: Re: [MDWashin] Death Certificate Bobbie~ My husband's great grandparents lived in Green Spring Furnace from approx. 1850 until 1880.
