There are a total of 7 volumes of cemetery records. There are no wills for the names below in the will index. Washington Spy (Hagerstown) October 18, 1793 "George Bishop has opened a house of Entertainment in the Main St. at Williamsport." Maryland Herald February 22, 1798 "Lands to be leased or sold, 2300 a. in Harrison, Co. Va - George Bishop, Hagerstown." In 1804 a Jacob Bishop owned land and a mill within 5 miles of Hancocktown. There is a will and estate documents for a Jacob Bishop in the will index for the year 1784. A Margaret Bishop appears in the will index in 1798 but nothing is listed for the person. There is a will in the Jefferson County WV index for a George Bishop in 1819. There is a William Bishop listed in Bell's Co. of the Maryland Militia of Wash. Co. during the Rev. War. I believe his rank is Pvt. 1st. class. There are also Bishops in Worcester Co. Md. during colonial times. Brumbaughs Maryland Records Vol. II lists a marriage of John Bishop and Hannah Cooper September 17, 1789 in Fred. Co. Md. Good luck!
