Thanks very much to those who responded about my quest for a Death Cert. for < $25.00 . Perhaps some more info on whom I’m searching for will prove useful. I am searching for info on the parents of Jacob and Maria A. Stine. The MD archives lists a death index card for Maria, but not Jacob. 1) Jacob Stine b. 15 Dec 1819 [tombstone record] d. 21 Feb 1899 bu. Jefferson Union Cemetery. Frederick Co. 2) Maria A. Stine b. 16 June 1819 [cemetery record] d. 16 Apr 1905 bu. Church of Brethren Graveyard, Brownsville, Washington Co. Maria m. James W. Holmes ~1854 and he died 31 Dec 1881 bu. same cemetery. Death Index Card for Maria Holmes says she died 16 Apr. 1905 Washington Co. at age 86 [so born 1819.] I have the Will of Philip Stine/Stein b. ~1790 [probably Washington Co.] and d. 24 Jun 1857 in Frederick Co., which lists Jacob Stine/Stein and Maria Holmes as his children, along with Rosanna, Mary Jane, Huldah, Sarah Catherine, Harriet and Susanna R. I am certain Philip is the father. However, the only marriage record I can find is to a Sophia Smith with a date of 4 May 1820 which is AFTER Jacob and Maria were born. Either both death records of Jacob and Maria are incorrect, or Philip could have been married to someone else before Sophia.
