    3. HI Roger, Nice to hear from you again. I lost lots of emails when system went some years ago. I have always thought that file your showing is related to ours. I really needed to have taken trip back to sw PA about ten years ago. A distant cousin seemed to have data that made sense. He used to work at the Library in Waynesburg. HE had different dates for the three John's deaths but he never told me where they died. I know we were in Maryland when the Henry dcd 1811-12 died was born. He listed it on his tax papers in Waynesburg. I believe his birth was near 1735-40 for Henry's birth. Many list him later but that is wrong date. He was given land by George his brother in Shanandoah Valley area and had to be 18 to have it. He sold that land in 1805 as resident of Greene Co PA. More later. 1. [MDWashin] middle name Hammer?

    3. I found a birth record possibility for my 3rd great-grandmother Susan Shank on the FHL film #859283 "Records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hagerstown, Maryland." The parents are Peter Shank and his wife Mary. Their daughter is named Susan Hammer. Has anyone seen Hammer used as a middle name before - especially for a girl? I didn't notice anyone with the last name Hammer in these records.  Relatively speaking, Laura Do we have ancestors in common? Check here http://livinginthepastlane.com

    3. Good point (chuckling as I too am becoming outdated)! What I meant to say is that the process explained in the intro may no longer be up to date. :o)  Relatively speaking, Laura Do we have ancestors in common? This book is not outdated because it covers a specific time period - it just gets older - kind of how I would like to view myself (smile). Morrow and Morrow have published a similar guide to Jefferson County, WV where you will also find many Wash co. names. 3. Laura, It is certainly possible? Is this the George that married Elizabeth Kemp on 11 November 1786 in the Lutheran church in Frederick? George was a son of Michael and my 3g grandfather. Is it possible to obtain a copy of his will if this is he? Where do I write for it and what is the cost? I assume it would be in Hagerstown? I have not been to the library in Hagerstown for a number of years as I am not able to go much alone. I will be away all of next week at the National Genealogical Conference in Charleston, SC. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for the wonderful service you are providing to so many of us genealogy nuts.
