I have seen this Mary Ann Travers(Dusing) on a few occasions. Everything points to her being the sister of John Henry Travers. I have no solid proff so I have never put them as siblings. I am interested in finding the parents of Solomon Smth, born 4-6-1817, near Rohrersville, Maryland, and died 7-30-1903, Culver, Kansas, who married Sophia Thomas, daughter of Michael and Mary Painter Thomas. Solomon had a brother Elias Y. Smith, born 12-17-13, near Rohrersville, Maryland, and died 3-17-1900, Carroll County, Illinois. Elias married Mary Ann Watson, daughter of Richard and Sarah Watson. We have been searching for years now for the names of the parents of Solomon Smith and his brother Elias Y. Smith. Any information any one may have will be appreciated. Roger, thanks for sharing Solomon's descendants. Solomon Smith was born May 31, 1814 and died July 3, 1856 in Frederick Co., MD. He is buried in Zion Lutheran Church in Middleton, MD. Solomon is the son of Johannes/John Smith and Susanna Derr who married 10 April 1813 in Frederick Co., MD (license/bond date). Solomon Smith was living with his parents in the 1850 census in Middletown Election Dist., Frederick Co., MD. Solomon's two children John V. and Susan L. were ages 12 and 10, and there was a Maria Smith, age 27, who may be Solomon's wife listed just below Solomon. Bowles 10/29/1855 and one bride: TRAVER, Sarah/MUCK Jc. 6/11/1819 There is nothing in Wright's newspaper extractions 1820-1830 and nothing in Vol. II and III of the cemetery records.
