John GULDY was one of the executors of the estate of Jacob GEIGER, Sr. (Christina's father). Jacob's will was written 17 June 1763 and probated 29 June 1772. Another of Jacob GEIGER's daughters, Maria, married John STAPLETON, son of Robert STAPLETON of Yorkshire, England who emigrated to Oley, Berks County, PA and removed to Shenandoah County, VA in 1752 where he died in 1754. He is buried near Quicksberg. The information about the STAPLETON family is from the HENCKEL genealogy and is based upon the research of Rev. Ammon STAPLETON. Since the brother of Jacob GEIGER, Sr. settled in Frederick County, MD and died there prior to 24 June 1740 it wouldn't be at all unheard of for other interconnected families to move there. Joan

Roger, The marriage license for Daniel Binkley and Catherine Weaver was taken out 12/26/1845. So here we have a case where the license in the marriage index is not the same as the marriage date. also: WEAVER, Geo/Ellenora Spickler 1/8/1851 There are about 4 marriages for women named Cath. Weaver. There is an equity case in 1829 between Ann and David Weaver - they had two children and then he abandoned them and went off to the western country, where he now resides. Her father, Wm Albert, died and she wants to clear any claims Weaver may have to her inheritance. I don't know if there is any connection to this family or not. Roger, you are the expert on families from Washington Co., Md..I have read your emails for years on rootweb sites. I though I would just ask you if you have anything on the Mason family. There is two Mason lines in the county. One is the Jeremiah Mason (my Mason) of Castle Howe on Licking Creek just west of Clear Spring and the other is the Masons of Montpelier just north east of Clear Spring, Washington Co. Md. Old books say these two lines of Masons are from Virginia. I have found no proof of my line to Virginia. Just because a 1898-1900 book says so is not a fact.
