Patsy: While I haven't been to Berkley Springs in a good many years I am sure there are motels etc. in the area, Hagerstown has quite a few and is not that far away to make it your headquarters. I sugeest you get into web sites like mapquest and hotel com, they will give rates, maps etc. I have used both of them on genealogy trips and it works fine. Thanks to all who replied to my query. I have some food for thought here. I believe the Ella Christopher you refer to has already been looked at by me; in fact, I requested the obit or death certificate from the MD Archives but it was not my Ella. However, the two James MASONs may well bear looking into. I have looked at the Archives as they were put on line but found nothing significant for him. I will let you know if I find out anything from these clues. This MASON family is a tough wall to climb over but we are determined to find the answers by working forward and then backward again. I just know that there are surviving grandchidren or great-grandchildren who are also engaged in the search and perhaps we can connect with them, too. Thanks again.
