    3. I'm still looking for information for Bazil Howard, who was overseer at Newtown according to Jesuit Missions. He appears on the ca 1780 SMC militia list and 1790 US Census, but I have very little on his family or connections. I've been going through the pages of the Newtown ledger, and he is mentioned quite often, from 1785 through 1796. Some examples: 1785 Bazil Howard Db _______________________________________________________________________ Jan. 20 To leather for a pr of shoes 0.2.6 June 25 Tocash lent to go to Virginia 0.7.6 Aug. 29 Tocash paid you. eight dollars 3.0.0 30 To 1 pr of shoes 0.7.6 Feb. 8 Tocash paid you 21.2.6 _____ 25.0.0 Jan. 9 Tocash paid you 7.10.0 24 To paid you 0.15.0 27 To paid you leather for mending shoes 0.2.0 March 17 Tocash paid you 1.10.0 To cash paid 0.15.0 March 31 May 10 Tocash paid 3.0.0 June 26 Topaid Mr. Boarman for you 1 guinea 1.15.0 To paid you 3.5.0 July 14 Toone horse called Pompy 12.10.0 Oct 3 To paid Cuthbert Head for you 0.15.0 To Paid [overwrites an unknownword] to pay Mr. Jenkins for you 6.12.5 5 To paid you one bible 0.10.0 To 3 pecks of corn @ 1 p. 0.3.0 March 22 Tocash paid 3.0.0 Aug 7 To paid Rachel Cecil for you 0.0.11 _______ 42. 8. 4 March 13,1787 then agreed with Bazil Howard for one years work , for which he is to be paid £25 currentmoney of me. 3. Gayle, When I original worked on Fr. Walton's diary about 20 years ago and before everything was transferred to Georgetown, there was a large filing cabinet full of originally letters. Wish I had spent more time on the letters as I have never been able to track them down after the transfer. Some items at Georgetown now: I noted this "Cornelius Wildman's occupation was a bricklayer for he is listed as such in the 1710 land transaction when he bought "St. Edwards" from Luke Gardiner for 4 thousand pounds of Tobacco \ Georgetown Archives Box: 35 Fold: 14 Plats/Indentures, etc. [107 Z1-Z8] DATE SPAN: [01/01/1710]? - [12/31/1905]? DESCRIPTION: Items include the following: Agreement (1724/5) between George Thorold, S.J., and Edward Cole; Indenture (1710) between Edward Cole and Cornelius Wildman. These indexes are on-line.
