    3. Thanks Tom, I am very envious of people who live in the Washington, D. C./Maryland area. There are so many great research opportunities there. I hired a great lady to take photos for me of the documents I was interested in at Georgetown and at the MD Archives, but it's not the same as doing your own research. There are a number of letters listed in the Georgetown index. I wonder if they are the same as those that used to be in the file cabinets? If anyone is interested in visiting Georgetown the following information might be useful. Keep in mind that the Special Collections are by appointment only. Georgetown University Library (The John Mark Lauinger Library) 37th & O Streets NW Washington DC20057-1174 202.687.7607 Special Collections ResearchCenter – 5th floor Below are the files in the index that I've been looking at. In my own ignorance, I had at one time thought that the Newtown ledger/Day book and Fr. Walton's diary were the same thing. Of course they're not (I find Fr. Walton much harder to read). Also, though it's on the index, you're no longer allowed to touch the original of the diary, only the photocopies. The library is going through another reorganization soon. http://www.library.georgetown.edu/dept/speccoll/cl119.htm ARCHIVES,MARYLAND PROVINCE, SOCIETY OF JESUS http://www.library.georgetown.edu/dept/speccoll/fl/f119%7D2.htm Box: 4 Fold: 1 Records-Diary of J. 3. Gayle, I think the some of the letters are not included in the indexes unless I missed them. I remeber a letter from an Abell c 1790 acsking someone to change rent on land for his sister. Never saw this in index. Also, a few letters & notes on Cornelius Wildman, one of my ancestros.
