    1. Re: [MDSTMARY] Tattershall Kinsmen in Maryland -- Frances Tattershall's birth date doesn't work with either Edmund Tattershall or Edmund Smith.
    2. Mike Frances Tattershall, is a interesting lady. We find documents referring to her as Frances Kempe, Frances Weldon, Frances Chapell Frances Smith, & Frances Drew. There are few records for recusant births/deaths/weddings,etc in England during the reformation & the civil war era, for these underground Catholics avoided the government's civil instatutions, for obvious reasons. Therefore, dates are a seldom found. We found no records on Frances birth but we do find Edmund Tattershall, of Brooke mentioning Frances in a number of land records. Mainly to assure her siblings dispense lease moneys to her from Edmund's properties. There are no documents stating per say who Edmund Smith's parents are, just his Tattershall uncles. And other records associating William Smith of Whitechurch with Edmund and George Tattershall of Finchampstead. You should know that we have concluded that Edmund of Catmore is the same as person as Edmund of Brooke, based on land records. We also know that Edmund was a single man in 1586, and it appears that Edmund married 1st a lady named Grace, who we have assume is Frances, Edmund, of London and Katherine's Tattershall mother. > Randy, thanks for these summaries.
