Riley's great grandmother was Mary Matilda Riley nee Tucker. She was the wife of Timon William Riley who is also listed William Timon Riley in many documents (also spelled Tyman). In the publication "100 Years in Bandera 1853-1953" by J. Marvin Hunter there is a picture of Mary Matilda with a brief history that she was reared by her uncle Alex Tucker and married Timon in Port Lavaca in 1861. The 1870 census available at the Clayton Library shows a list of their children. Benedict Riley was supposedly a landowner in Yoakum, TX but I have not found hard evidence. I know Alex and Hilary Tucker rode the Chisholm trail. Benedict Riley's sister Mary was married to John May who was a large landholder near Yoakum. I have a photo of Timon William Riley with a team of longhorns pulling his plow near Tarpley, Texas. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
