Phoebe Harten Greenwell's father, George Ridley Harten, from Solomon's, MD, was a younger brother to my great-great grandmother, Margaret Harten Reid. I, along with other Harten relations, have been working on the Harten family line (of Irish descent)for several years. Unfortunately I only have very limited information on James and Phoebe Harten Greenwell's family; it would be great to receive any assistance you can offer. I do know that they had at least twelve children in the family: Gertrude Helen Greenwell (Norris), Catherine Marie Greenwell (Abell), Elizabeth Alberta Greenwell (Gatton), George Sterling Greenwell, Mary Elizabeth Greenwell (Hayes Kelly), Thomas James Greenwell, George Daniel Greenwell, Joseph Peter Greenwell, John Aloysius Greenwell, Louis Edward Greenwell, Mary Ann Greenwell (Updyke) and Joseph Benedict Greenwell. I understand that two of these children may still be living? I did find Pheobe's burial recorded in a cemetery in Washington DC; but have found no death/burial for her husband, James Greenwell and I would like to try to get the same information, such as birth dates, death dates, marriages, spouses and children, etc for their twelve children (although I believe one son may have died in WWII and another son may have been a priest, but I'm not sure.) Would be more than happy to share info on the Harten side of this family with you if you are interested. It would probably be best to communicate offline via the following email address: kperago@comcast.net. Again, thank you for your response, it is much appreciated. It is also nice to hear from another distant Harten cousin. Keith H Perago Harrisburg, PA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
