The final accounting by Aletha and James was dated April 23, 1831 and referred to Benedict as deceased. Apparently it was a very popular Spalding name. I found a record online assuming the one that was married to Aletha died in Kentucky. Then again maybe it's two different Alethas. I have Benedict Joseph Spalding (d. bef. 1832) son of Thomas Spalding (d. 1819) and Rebecca Yates (d. 1833) who married Aletha Greenwell on 29 Sep 1819, daughter of Thomas Greenwell (d. 1812) and Mary Simmons.. She was the Admin for her husbands's will. He wrote is will on 2 Jan 1831 and it was probated 4 Feb 1832.
