Dear List, I found the following: ****************************** Tue, January 29, 2013 10:41:06 AM From: "pundt1@comcast.net" <pundt1@comcast.net> from some old notes: Paul Peacock died 1709, wife Eleanor Abell, dau. MARYLAND CALENDAR OF WILLS: Volume 3 ****************************** My question: Is the Eleanor Abell married to Paul Peacock (d. 1709) a sister of Samuel Abell Jr. and John Abell who are shown as lessees of Paul Peacock Jr's 43 1/2 Acres in 1726? If this is not the case, can anyone identify her connections to the Abell Family? Thanks very much, Don
When Grace Thomas Brewer Arthur made her will in 1703 her brother in law Thomas Davis and her sister Mary Thomas Davis were alive. There is this probate: Thomas Davies 338.12 I SM £26.7.6 Apr 9 1712 Administrator of Eleanor Peacoke. Appraisers: Thomas Blackman, John Miller. Creditors & Next of kin: Samuell Abell, Mary Peacoke. Thomas Davis 335.213 I SM £26.1.6 Apr 9 1712 The deceased was the administrator of Elinor Pecock. Appraisers: Thomas Packman, John Milles. Creditors: Samuel Abell, Mary Peacok ======================================================= And there is this probate: Thomas Davis 1710 - July 31 1718 Samuel 1 shilling Everything to wife Mary and she is Exec Wit Sebastian Thompson, Archabold Pike, Margarett Thompson, Mildred Pike, James Thompson I tend to think the Thomas Davis that married Mary Thomas was the one that died in 1712 and was administrator to Eleanor Peacock. Here is why: His nephews in law by Grace were Richard and William Brewer. Richard Brewer's estate was appraised by Samuel Abell, Sr. When Thomas and Mary Davis gave consent for their land to be inherited by the Brewer males I assumed that was probably because Thomas and Mary were childless. Is it possible that a Eleanor Davis married Paul Peacock?
