My ancestor is Richard Langhorn Clark. All I know about is wife is that her name was Chloe, no maiden name. Has anyone else who might have come across Richard found out his wife's maiden name? Richard's parents were John Clark and Eleanor Gough. Richard was barn around 1753 in Maryland. The family ends up in Kentucky. Any ideas or suggestions on how to find out her maiden name? Thank you. This Robert Cole was the one who married first, Ann Greenwell (dau. of Thomas Greenwell and his first wife, Mary Medley) and second, Sarah (Elizabeth) by 1771. Mary Cole was probably the single daughter of Robert Cole (see his will below). Robert Cole was the son of Robert Cole and Elizabeth Tant. Will of Robert Cole, SMC 11/26/1771-12/2/1771. Wife: Sarah, alias Elizabeth. Children: Eleanor, Elizabeth, Mary. Jeremiah Newton, baptized 10/12/1771, son of Joseph Newton (son of Clement Newton who d. 1760). Note that Clement Newton also had a son named Alban or Albian Newton and that Richard and Chloe Clarke also had a son named Albin. Joseph Newton's wife was Mildred and after looking at the data, I'm pretty sure she was Mildred Knott, dau. of William Knott and Ann Mattingly (dau. of Thomas Mattingly (d. 1714) and Elizabeth ____. Ursula Greenwell, dau. of Edward and Catherine. I can't identify the parents of this Edward. Was he Edmund rather than Edward? Edward and Catherine also had a daughter named Rosa who was baptized 6/23/1771, GP: Richard Clarke and Sarah Greenwell. 2/1791: Citation ordered against Eleanor Halket (Hackett?) to show cause why she detains in her hands the property of Edward Greenwell. (Orphan Ct. Rec.,Fenwick). 3/1791: Ursula Greenwell, admx. of Edward Greenwell vs. Eleanor Halket for detention of property of Edward Greenwell. (Orphan Ct. Rec., Fenwick). Anybody know who this Eleanor Halket could be? Can anyone add new data to all of this?
