No, they didn't have a son named Thomas. Will of John Davis, SMC, 12/23/1716-3/29/1717. To: Youngest son, George and daughter, Mary, each 1/3 of my personal estate. Two children: John and Briscoe, all land equally divided between them excepting 1/3 of the dwelling plantation. Wife: Ann, Exec., 1/3 of dwelling plantation during life and 1/3 personal estate absolutely. Wit: Peter O'Neale, Alexander Scott, Peter Harris. NOTE: Peter Harris was his stepfather. (Maryland Calendar of Wills). I know this Thomas Davis is related somehow, but have never made the connection for sure. He could have been a son of either John or Briscoe, sons as named in the will above. Thanks Linda. I didn't have him as a son, yet I kept seeing it on people's websites. I am going to send for the will of the Briscoe Davis who d. in Craven Co and see if it doesn't shed some clue.
