    3. Good morning, Does anyone have documentation to prove that it was Elizabeth Shercliffe who married Alexander Hamilton? I may be wrong, but I currently have that Elizabeth married first, Francis Spink and second, William Bradburn. It's based on location, land, and naming a daughter Tecla. Will of William Shercliffe, SMC, 3/25/1707-7/1/1707. Son-in-law: Dennis Mahoney and to daughter, Mildred (his wife), 30 ac., pt. of land adjoining that obtained from Francis Spink. Residue of land to be divided into four parts. Wife: Mildred, during life, dwelling plantation. Son: John, dwelling plantation at death of wife and 1/4 of residue of land. Sons: William and Thomas, each 1/4 of residue of land. Sons: John, William, Thomas, and Peter, land leased to Francis Knott (for 99 years) at expiration of lease. Four daughters: Mary Melton, wife of Thomas Melton and Ann, Elizabeth, and Tecla at 16 years of age, reidue of land. To: Eleanor, dau. of Thomas Spink, 25 ac. "Ferny Hill", formerly belonging to John Howard. Wife: Mildred, Exec., residue of estate, real and personal. Wit: Edward Field, James Martin, John Drury. "Linstead", 100 ac., surveyed 9/2/1653 for Henry Spink; Possessor: Francis Spink. The deeds below all deal with "Linstead." 12/6/1710: From Francis Spink to Walter Davis, 20 ac. 3/1/1711: Deed from Francis Spink and wife, Elizabeth (?) to Dennis Mahoney and wife, Mildred, 16 ac. 3/5/1711: From Francis Spink to Richard Melton (no acreage given). 5/3/1712: From Francis Spink to Henry Miles (no acreage given). 5/6/1712: From Walter Davis and wife, Ann to Cornelius Wildman, 20 ac. 5/7/1712: William Thomas and Peter Shercliffe (no grantor given), 36 ac. 7/18/1717: From Dennis Mahoney and wife Mildred to Thomas Shercliffe, 16 ac. 11/6/1730: From Thomas Green and wife to Thomas Shercliffe (no acreage given). Francis Spink possessed "Ferney Hill", 150 ac. in Newtown 100 in 1707 which was patented by John Shercliffe 5/16/1650 (Chr. of SM). Will of Francis Spink, SMC, 1/30/1718-19; 3/4/1718. Daughter: Catherine, land on east side of line established by testator being pt. of "Ferney Hill" and personalty. Daughter: Tecla, pt. of afsd. tract and personalty. Unborn child: Residue of afsd. land and "Deviding Values". Children, afsd., residue of estate. Exec.: Wife, Eleanor. Wit: John Farr, William Yates, Charles Neale. (Maryland Calendar of Wills). First, are you talking about the Alexander Hamilton b 1682-1731 ..........if so he married Elizabeth Shercliffe Green daughter of Robert Green and Mary Boarman and did not marry Elizabeth Shercliffe, I believe these are two different women. So are you talking about the Elizabeth Shercliffe d/o William Shercliffe who d 1707 .......then she could have married 1) Francis Spink 2) William Bradburn. Sorry I do not have any data on the Elizabeth Shercliffe do William I can not swear that I am 100% correct, but according to my records, I think this is right. Maybe others can add to this.
